Book a Time to Talk

Thomas Rice

I’m Thomas, I was enlisted in the Army Infantry between 05 and 11. I recently activated and joined About Face in response to visible and overt fascist behaviors in our government and the rapid militarization of our law enforcement at all levels. Since joining, I have been made aware of the litany of issues plaguing our country and am energized to organize and oppose the direction the ultra wealthy have been steering us our entire lives.

Joseph Funk

Hello! I’m Joseph. I’m a medically retired Infantryman and have been with About Face for a few years, and have a degree in Philosophy. This is the best veteran org I’ve ever found, and I’m glad of my chance to actually help people, and give our answer to the fascists: Non servium!

Jason Matherne

Hello, my name is Jason Matherne, and I have been a member of About Face for several years as a U.S. Navy Veteran. I greatly enjoy being a part of a rad collective of anti-imperialist veterans organizing around the Right to Refuse campaign and Veterans Against Fascism.

Jay

Hi! I’m Jay. I enlisted in the Army as infantry and deployed to Afghanistan in 2014. Since getting out in 2016, I continue to study philosophy, ethnic studies, and history. The US’ policy to arm and sanction Israel’s occupation and genocide of Palestine activated me to become a member and organizer with About Face. Post-9/11 veterans are playing integral roles within community networks to resist fascism, white supremacy, and state violence.

Rebecca Roberts

I’m Rebecca. I was enlisted in the Air National Guard doing logistics before commissioning in the Army Infantry. I resigned my commission a few years back and have been involved in veteran organizing ever since as a member of About Face and Vets Against Fascism. I studied Human Rights and Global Policy and believe that veterans have a powerful voice in the fight against fascism. I’m looking forward to connecting with you to build our movement!

Rue Perry

Hello my name is Rue. I’m a Marine Corps veteran and an About Face member in the South East. I’m glad to be a part of Veterans Against Fascism and looking forward to helping other veterans get involved as well. We’ve got work to do.

Gary Egelston

Hello, my name is Gary Egelston. After deployments to Pakistan and Iraq during the Bush years, I separated from the Air Force in 2007. Currently, I am working on my master’s in history. About Face is a war resistance veteran group, opposite almost all the other orgs. As a new generation is traumatized by the MIC, it is vital to have this resource available.

Eric Esqueda

My name is Eric Esqueda, but I go by “Eskateerr” online. I’m a USMC veteran and member of About Face, as well as the National Lawyers Guild. I’m very glad to be a part of Veterans Against Fascism to help others continue the fight against fascists. I also help with some immigration rights groups in my area.
