Military members do have the right to engage in forms of political speech and dissent. You have options and you’re not alone. With the Trump administration’s disregard for constitutional law and established norms for the appropriate use of the military, it is more vital than ever that military personnel are prepared to resist pressure to carry out orders that may be unlawful, unethical, or unjust.

The MRSN is a coalition of organizations dedicated to protecting the first amendment rights of military members and providing resources and support to military members of conscience.

There is a long and powerful legacy of military personnel taking courageous action to raise public awareness about abuses of power, resist unjust violence and disrupt unlawful or unethical operations. Regardless of MOS, unit, or personal responsibility, everyone who wears the uniform is implicated when our military is not operating in accordance with our sworn oaths and values and thus, each of us has a duty to make our objections clear.
